Here are a few pictures of our happy clients...

Rug

Rug swims for fitness twice a month, his favourite toy is the duck!

Wilhemina

Mina enjoys her hydrotherapy treatment and swims by herself. She now has a small weight attached to her weakest hind leg to encourage the muscle to work harder.

Jessie

Jessie is a 13 year old Yorkshire Terrier who has torn both of her cruciate ligaments at different times but hydrotherapy has enabled her to keep active without having any invasive therapy. She swims twice a month and this helps the muscles to stay toned and her joints to maintain maximum movement. Jessie hadn't been swimming before but took to it very well even though she is not in the first flush of youth!

Patch

Patch is shown here being showered which signifies the end of the session. All dogs like routine, it relaxes them to know what is coming next.

CB

CB is an English Bull Terrier x Labrador, he is very keen on swimming and really doesn't want to leave the pool at the end of his session, it takes a lot of persuasion from all concerned! He swims for fitness and to keep the aches of old age at bay, he is nearly 13 and thinks he is still in his prime.

Marnee

Marnee enjoys swimming for fitness and she is well known in the show ring.

Kismet

Kismet with one of her favourite toys, she used the pool to keep her arthritis under control, sadly now passed over the Rainbow Bridge she really loved her hydro treatment.

Chad

Chad enjoyed his swimming so much and this picture was taken by his owner during one of his treatments. You can see his favourite toy is the tennis ball and we think this picture of him shows how happy he was.
Now passed over the rainbow bridge but his tennis ball will be somewhere nearby...

Tilly

Tilly is just over a year old and has dysplasia in both hips. There was no appreciable muscle when she started hydrotherapy but now her hind leg muscles are better than many dogs without hip dysplasia. She will need to keep up the swimming to maintain the muscles.

Saracen is a lovely boy who suffers from CDRM, he came to Silverden to see if hydrotherapy will help him retain the muscle mass that he has on his hind legs. Even though he has never been swimming he took to it extremely well and enjoys his short treatment with Sue in the pool.

It is inevitable that we lose some of our clients because it their time to pass over but we miss them all keenly. Their personalities shaped how we work in the pool and we remember them with much affection. In the dog world dying is commonly referred to as 'going over the Rainbow Bridge' which is why I have used this term on Silverden's website.

'Those of us who surround ourselves with lives more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle that is easily and often breached. Yet knowing this, we still would choose to live no other way.'
